I saw this video and couldn’t resist posting it here. Mostly because it (i.e., Jimmy) made me laugh and I also got to see Michelle Obama’s informal dance moves.

  1. I laughed so hard when I saw this video. It took me a minute to realize that Jimmy was the other ‘Mom’. Watching the video made me get up and dust off some of my own moves. So I guess it served its purpose.

    • Roxanne (oops, Reese) the video made me get up and dance, too. My teenage son and I were doing the “Dougie” moves Michelle Obama was doing at the end of the video. My son said she wasn’t doing it right so he demonstrated how it’s supposed to be done. He’s pretty good at it, so he was outdoing me. You’re right, the video served it’s purpose it made us get up and move.

Susan, if you’re still back there with “the bump” then we’re going to have to catapult you into the 21st century dance moves. Not that I’m an expert, but my fourteen year old son is always dancing around the house with iPod earplugs on. He keeps me updated on the new moves. Since becoming a teenager, his dance moves have greatly improved from his awkward younger years, which is still shocking to me.

  2. I saw this on a political website I follow. LOVE it. Love me some Michelle Obama, too.

In my arrogant opinion, I think the Obamas are the closest thing to the Kennedys that we’ve had in a long time, and I wish we had a more agreeable Congress. DON’T get me started. (Yes, I pronounce Boehner the way it should be pronounced: Boner.)

But I digress. I like the fact that she pushes nutrition and health to get the kids moving. We used to have the Presidential Fitness Club or something when I was a kid. Today’s youth needs to turn off the tech and tune in to life. Real life.

    Thanks for posting this. 🙂

  3. Mike, I agree with you on every level here–including Mr. Boner. And not only do our kids need to turn off the tech and tune into life but we adults do, too. Thanks for weighing in with your arrogant opinion. 🙂

  4. Nancy, the Dougie is a new dance the young generation are doing. Actually, it’s not that new it’s been out for a while, and like you I always think “Dougie Fresh” when I hear about it.

I only know about it because of my teenage son (who taught me how to do it), otherwise I’d probably be clueless.
