Unlock Yourself

Sometimes we get all locked up inside and don’t know what to do. We shut down and shut off our power source and start grasping at straws. Hoping something will work. Pleading for something to work. Not realizing we’ve locked and bolted our own doors. Allowing nothing to get in and nothing to get out.

Sometimes we get stuck in anger, stuck in regret, stuck in fear, and stuck on stupid. There are plenty of locked doors inside of us waiting to be opened. If only.

Maybe we need to:

  • unlock our fears
  • unlock our love
  • unlock our spirit
  • unlock our substance
  • unlock our peace
  • unlock our freedom
  • unlock our authenticity
  • unlock our maturity
  • unlock our humility
  • unlock our grace
  • unlock our healing
  • unlock our intellect
  • unlock our self-confidence
  • unlock our wisdom
  • unlock our vitality
  • unlock our inspiration

We have to open our hearts and minds to the possibility of our self, and unleash our possibilities unto the world. We can’t move into our potential if we’re all locked up inside.

If only…

we would use our God-given keys to unlock ourselves

  1. Fear is the lock; faith is the key. “I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength.”

The more strength we draw from Him, the closer we get to obtaining the Master Key.

    Great post, D.

  2. Demetria, once again you are making me think. Each and everyday I am learning more and more to unlock myself from certain things in my life. But as I say everyday; “With God all thing are possible.”

  3. You got it right. The fear doesn’t come from God according to II Timothy 1:7…”For God did not give us a spirit of timidity, but a spirit of power, of love and of self-discipline.”

  4. Well put! I do love your “needs to be unlocked” list. Getting rid of all of that would definitely mute so much negative self-talk and open us up to discovery of ourselves, others and the world.

Okay Demetria… I’m working on it!

  5. D- It is 2:30 Sunday night and I am so locked up, it’s pathetic. Locked in worry and frustration! Your blog is such a reminder to unlock the power of God… we feel powerless only when we do not remember that he is teh one holding teh power… not our circumastances or our weaknesses. You are such a gifted writer – I hope you realize this- and I am always proud to call you my friend.

  6. Demetria, I really needed to read this post this morning. It is confirmation that you have to step out on faith. It is not enough to wait in faith. You have to act on faith. I have been locking myself up. That is usually the way I deal with struggles and life. I think that by locking myself I am helping myself. But I am only hurting myself and stagnating my growth. So I am going to unlock my potential and fears and pursue my goals. 🙂

  7. Joseph, whenever you’re thirsty stop on over for a cool drink. Although it may not always be refreshing water. Sometimes I pour sour lemondade. 🙂

Susan, you summed it up very well. We have to remember to unlock the power of God. That says it all. Also, our speedy little fingers don’t like being bothered with spellcheck. They have a mind of their own when they fly across the keyboard. 🙂

Alexandra, good for you for putting your faith in action. Although I believe faith is both waiting and acting. Walking in faith means knowing when to be still (wait) and let God, and also to jump off the cliff (take action) and let God provide safe landing. Also, I’m glad you gained God’s confirmation through his post. 🙂

  8. Thanks, Nancy. I’m glad you enjoy the newsletter and I greatly appreciate your being a subscriber to Sexy Savvy Growth.

Also, you are so correct about putting too much emphasis on being static with our accomplishments and energy and the lack of normalcy of it. Thanks for your input.
