Reach and Teach
Author: Demetria Foster Gray
Thanks to my friend and fellow writer, Roxanne Ravenel, I’m a big fan of Marie Forleo. Marie shares insightful information for women in business and self-empowerment.
One of the things I’ve realized about myself back when I was becoming increasingly dissatisfied with my career (at that time), and the lack of luster in my life was I needed self-empowerment. The quest for it, took me on a journey of spiritual growth and the need to reposition my life and career. So I did.
One of the things I enjoy seeing is women empowering women (the real stuff, not the phony kind). I’ve learned we have to root for each other and be our own allies. I haven’t always been that way. I was more of an “every woman for herself” type. But this women’s empowerment thing is awesome. I love it. And I love this phase of my life where I’m transforming into a better version of myself—right before my own eyes. (That’s right, I’m growing up.)
Anyhoo, my purpose for this video is to do my part to create awareness and spread the word—to reach and teach. Find out “Three Ways You Can Change the World Right Now,” from Marie Forleo.

Demetria, thank you so much for sharing this video. First of all, the issue of empowering women around the world is such an important one. I can’t wait to read this book, watch the documentary, and get involved any way I can.
Second, when I changed my email address some last year there were several mailing lists I’d forgotten to update my email address on–Marie’s was one of them. So thank you for reminding me to correct this oversight.
I was debating my blog topic this week. I definitely want to share this video and it has inspired my topic for this week.
So glad to have you back. I missed you!

Roxanne, thank you so much for creating awareness of Marie. I’d never known she existed had it not been for you. I’m also glad this post gave you a form of inspiration, which means it has served its purpose to reach and teach.

Very powerful video. Empowerment of Women is so needed. I have always wanted to help young women to truly understand their worth. I have always thought my life was a true lesson for that. Every chance I get I try to use my story to reach and teach.
As always Demetria you keep me thinking.

Very inspirational video. “Give something of yourself, beyond yourself”…… very powerful and certainly words we should all live by.

Starletta, that was one of my favorite quotes in the video, too, along with a few others. I’m glad you found it inspirational. That darned Marie Forleo always says something that gets the wheels churning and keeps me thinking, even though she sometimes has a potty mouth.
