New Release: “The Rising” by Lynn Chandler Willis

The past couple of months have been all a buzz with my literary friends releasing their novels, and what better way to support them than with a continual stream of bells and whistles to celebrate their success.

Today, I’m sounding the bells and whistles for Lynn Chandler Willis.

I first met Lynn a few years ago when she was the owner of a small local newspaper and the lead facilitator of a local critique group. I eventually joined that critique group and watched my writing skills greatly improve because of it. I learned a lot from Lynn about the craft of writing. Lynn has a great command of words. She knows how to chop through the fluff of writing and get down to the meat of the matter. Lynn is excellent at weaving a great story and hooking you with it before you even know you’ve been hooked.

Join me for a chat with Lynn and the celebration of her new release, The Rising. (Click here for the book blurb.)

A Brief Chat with Lynn

Lynn, thank you for chatting with me. First of all, tell us who’s your intended audience for The Rising and why should they read your book?

The Rising crosses genres so it fits easily into the Mystery/Suspense world as well as Inspirational. Although it’s been called ‘edgy,’ it’s a clean read.

You’ve published both fiction and non-fiction books. The Rising is your first work of fiction. Which form of writing do you find easier to write and why?

I like the freedom of fiction. It still has to be believable so there is research involved, but it is so much more fun making stuff up.

When crafting your novels, is it more effective for you to have a structured daily writing routine or a free-flowing approach?

I’m definitely free-flowing. I find a structured routine is too much like a time clock and I try to avoid those.

You’re no stranger to the business side of writing, what aspect of the business side gets under your skin the most?

Marketing for sure. You kind of feel like a door-to-door salesman. Nobody wants to be “that” person everyone else runs from. It’s hard to gauge what’s too much and what’s not enough.

Penile firmness or rigidity is of short duration, early discharge upon intimacy or lovemaking (fornication) Believes it is a bad effect of masturbation valsonindia.com generic viagra order or hand practice which might put adverse effect to the body. valsonindia.com levitra samples Like Rogaine (minoxidil), Propecia — also called “finasteride” — is a drug that was developed to improve blood vessels of the heart. Is there a message in your debut novel you’d want readers to grasp?

I guess the take-away from The Rising would be the power of forgiveness — not only in forgiving others but also yourself.

Author Bio

Lynn Chandler-Willis has worked in the corporate world (hated it!), the television news business (fun job) and the newspaper industry (not a fan of the word “apparently” and phrase “according to”). She keeps coming back to fiction because she likes making stuff up and you just can’t do that in the newspaper or television news business.

She was born, raised, and continues to live in the heart of North Carolina within walking distance to her kids and their spouses and her nine grandchildren. She shares her home, and heart, with Sam the cocker spaniel.

She is the author of the best-selling true crime book, Unholy Covenant. The Rising is her debut novel.
