The New Year also gives me a whole new battlefield in which to win and lose on. And if I’m smart, my wins will far exceed my losses. And if I’m spiritually grounded, I’ll have the wisdom to know there’s no such thing as losses, that it takes a keen spiritual eye to see what appears to be a setback or loss is actually a “setup” for growth and victory.

Let us all enter the New Year with a keen spiritual eye so we can clearly see that all our battles are only necessary components for victory.

  1. Demetria– I’m like this too. Even though it’s just a simple flip of a man-made calendar, there’s something renewing and reinvigorating in New Years. You know how I was wallowing in decisions for most of December, and I allowed myself to do that. But now it’s time to push forward, try again, and focus on goals, not on the past. Happy New Year to you!

  2. It seems like we’re thinking along the same spiritual lines in approaching this new year, Demetria. I like surrounding myself with people like you! You keep me centered and reminded that a mistake really only messes things up if you learn nothing from it. Otherwise, it’s called a “lesson.” Happy New Year, sistah friend. Or should that sistren? No … the singular form … sistah friend.

  3. Ahh. That’s the sound of my soul sighing after reading your eloquent wisdom. I’m a big fan of change. As scary as it can be, it’s better than the alternative.

  4. Happy New Year!!! I am going into this New Year with great expectations! I am open to the grandness of God’s vision. Wishing you a prosperous New Year!!!
