You know how life can sometimes shake us up like loose change in a pocket? How we get rattled, and stirred, and tossed about? How we sit in our circumstances and putter around for answers? Well, here’s what I’ve learned from all the bumps and bruises—there are no answers.
All the rattling, shaking, and puttering is the answer. The experience is the answer. The journey is the answer. You can’t solve life, you just have to live it. Each day, every day.

Therefore, what I’m hoping to do—because I know life will shake me—is try my best to not get stirred. Once I get stirred up or fired up by the trials of life that’s when all the “crazy” comes out. So instead of getting stirred, I’m trying to laugh a little longer, pray a little harder, and breathe a little deeper. Other alternatives are to sit in silence, read a good book, or wolf down brownies with ice cream. What do you do to calm your crazy?
Interesting post.
This all sounds so interesting. I can’t wait for the book to be published. I love an interesting read.
Thanks, Jamestris, for your comments and support.
First let me say that I was sure I had it all together and it wasn’t my “crazy” that needed calming, it was everybody else’s. Then it hit me…those are the times when I would retreat to my bedroom, grab a good book and a glass of wine and lose myself in the pages. Thats when I realize I can’t control the outcome, so it’s better to just accept it and let it be.
Well said, Laurana. Thanks for your comments.
Great reflection on crazy times. Those are the times I try to shut myself in a room and write like there’s no tomorrow 🙂
Cindy, I can truly relate to writing like there’s no tomorrow. Thanks
First, let me say I can’t stop smiling. I can not wait to read the whole book.
But more then that I can’t wait for everyone else to read your book.
How do I calm my crazy? I calm my crazy by talking with my BFF’s and laughing uncontrollably about things only we as friends understand.
Sharon, your friendship is rock solid for over twenty years. I’m blessed by it. Thanks for your comments.
I practice deep breathing and try to wiggle my fingers.

Demetria Foster Gray, I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am. I thoroughly enjoyed the preview and cannot wait to read the entire book. Totally digging the website as well. How ironic….I calm my crazy by escaping in a good book. Looking forward to escaping in yours.
Starla, since childhood you’ve made a glorious impact on my life. Words can’t express my appreciation of you. Thanks for your comments.

I am so glad you shared with me your blog and website. You are a hugely talented writer, and I love your blog on shaken not stirred. A great play on words with truth and substance. I look forward to checking back with you for more!
Thanks, Susan, for your kind remarks. Please do come back often.
Aw, this was a really quality post. In theory I’d like to write like this also – taking time and real effort to make a good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and never seem to get anything done… Regards
