Brain Burn

Yes we’re in the information age, but good golly, what have we created. I’m having information burnout and if you are, too, then you have my permission to leave this blog right now. Because this, too—dare I say—is contributing to all the noise and clutter.

I try to stay up-to-date on the goings on, but the goings on keep changing more swiftly than I change my underwear. Every minute, information is being gathered, processed and dumped on us through various forms of multimedia creating a severe case of brain burn.

I hang my head in shame when I think of the hours I spend gathering, processing, and digesting tons of information—whether for career or personal use. Sometimes I run from my office in a brain burn tizzy screaming, “Enough already. Enough!” before collapsing into a ball of crazy.

I miss, miss, miss the glory days before Home Computers, iPhones—pads and pods, Facebook, Twitter, Kindle, etc. The glory days are forever gone and forever…..oops, excuse me, my cell is ringing. I must take this call, then send a text, and upload my iPad. What a shame. (And I don’t even own an iPad—-yet.)

  1. Yes, I to suffer from Brain Burn. Everyday I feel like I need to buy the lastest technology just to keep up. My daughter tells me all the time “Mom you need to get up to date.” But I like things the old fashion way.
That was when life was so very simple.

  2. Sharon, I know how you feel. Information and technology moves so swiftly it’s hard to keep up. But we must keep up or get left behind. Thanks for your comment, my friend.

  3. OMG!!! Experiencing brain burn @ work in a “paperless” environment. Leaves so much room for error…in my opinion. But what do ya do?? Just keep it moving.
