Pluck Out the Weeds in Your Life

I’ve been plucking out weeds today and doing some damage control. They’re not your typical lawn and garden weeds, but the kind that sprout up in life to strangle your progress and kill your dreams. The kind that wreaks havoc on your relationships and stunts your growth. Recognize any of these:

Anger Bitterness Frustration Self-Doubt
Pity Impatience Brokenness Hostility
Hatred Self-Abuse Withdrawal Stubbornness
Fear Loathing Anxiousness Intolerance

People having the anxiety disorder should entirely sildenafil overnight avoid it. Bloating: A tadalafil 100mg feeling of fullness in upper abdomen after eating Weight loss. A lot of times, one or more of these are putting up road blocks in my pathway and taking up unnecessary space in my life. Today I’m plucking out five of those weeds: frustration, anger, brokenness, self-abuse, and withdrawal.

When I’m frustrated, angry and feeling broken (into pieces), I automatically withdraw from people and don’t want to be bothered. And my regular form of self-abuse is overeating on comfort foods and skipping my workouts at the gym (self-abuse comes in different forms for different people).

Nevertheless, I spent the past two days surrounded by these five weeds, and miraculously I got through the Memorial Day holiday without killing anyone. (I can paste on a smile when necessary even though dark clouds brew underneath.) But what I love about myself in this phase of my life is my ability to recognize when I’ve let weeds control me and my ability to take back that control. Pluck. Pluck. One by one I pull the weeds out so I can get on with life. (Although some weeds are more stubborn than others and require Divine strength.)

But I’m not naive to think they won’t sprout up again. That’s what weeds do. The question is, “Am I going to do something about it or be entangled in their destruction?” Pluck, pluck is my answer to that. What’s yours? Are you plucking your weeds or getting all tangled up?

  1. I feel ya D. I may be dealing with 2 of those items you have listed. Trying to ignore them and keep it moving. Getting through them just makes us stronger, right??

  2. First, Let me say I do not remember receiving my reminder for your blog.
Anywho!!! I am dealing with alot of those weeds each and everyday. But, lately I have decided to cut them at the roots. I feel they have strangled my life long enough. I am so looking forward to a weed free life:)

  3. Sharon, I doubt we’ll ever have a weed-free life. Weeds are so hard to get rid of. They keep coming back for more. If you ever get completely weed-free, please let me in on your secret. I’d greatly appreciate it.
